There are many types of kitchen design that serve a number of purposes. Some homeowners want to create a family space, some simply wish to keep it for cooking and nothing more. For Mr and Mrs S in Bramhall, however, they sought a space for entertaining guests. For their large detached house, they came to us with the idea of creating a kitchen diner with both an island and a dining table. This would be functional for both casual and more intimate get-togethers.
In terms of design, the clients requested a classic ivory shaker style kitchen with matching furniture. For depth and contrast, the worktops would be black granite. When considering potential obstacles, we were faced with the task of utilising the space in the bay window. Luckily, this was no problem, and we shaped the worktops to move back into the space, allowing more room to walk.
